The Rodriguez National High School of Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur is must along the Maharlika Highway with a distance of nine(9) kilometers away from Naga City and about one (1) kilometer from provincial Capitol Complex; about two(2) kilometers from the Freedom Sports Complex where the DepEd Camarines Sur Division Office is located; and about five(5) kilometers from the Pili Town Proper to the south.
The strategic location of the school gives its own benefits in terms of the contributions brought by these existing institutions such as Mater Eccleasie, Boys Scout Camping Area, Rodriguez Elementary School, The Regional Mental Hospital, The Provincial Capitol, The Division Office of the Department of Education.
Its accessibility is considered by the Division of Camarines Sur, thus making it as a preferred venue for some of the significant activities and occasions of the province. The school hosted Division Science Competitions, Learning Action Cell Session (LAC Session), Division Communication Arts Festival, National Secondary Assessment Test (NSAT), Self-Assessment Test for the Mathematics, Science and English Teachers, and 2005 Accreditation and Equivalency Test,Alternative Learning System(ALS), Couples for Christ (CFC)-Christian Life Program, Division Conferences, National Jamboree 2011.
The Name
The school apparently got its name from Don Suzano J. Rodriguez who donated a total land area of 40,000 square meters or four hectares to the Rodriguez Elementary School. Through its Deed of Donation executed by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports represented by the Principal of Rodriguez Elementary School, Mr. Domingo Brito as the donor and by the Schools Division Superintendent, DR. VITA Q. AVENIDO, as the donee; the Rodriguez High School came into existence. A portion of the school site of Rodriguez Elementary School with a total land area of 10,000 square meters was given as requested by the Municipal Officials of Pili and Barangay Officials of Cadlan.
Indeed, the Rodriguez High School was born. Those who have collaborated in this institution were the so-called pioneers of RHS – MR. AGAPITO S. TOGÑI, JR, teacher-in-charge; PTA Officers headed by MR. FELICIANO OTILLA, PTA President; Barangay Council led by MR. FELIMON ANACIN, Barangay Captain of Cadlan; MS. SARAH JANE A. NEGRITO, teacher. The establishment of Rodriguez High School was approved last March 18, 1995 by DECS Secretary Ricardo T. Gloria.
